Native Maine's Eggs are Safe.

On August 13, 2010, Wright County Egg of Galt, Iowa, conducted a nationwide voluntary recall of shell eggs that it had shipped since May 19, 2010 to food wholesalers, distribution centers and foodservice companies in California, Illinois, Missouri, Colorado, Nebraska, Minnesota, Wisconsin and Iowa. These companies distribute nationwide, however these companies are NOT vendors to Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods (Native Maine).

The recalled shell eggs are packaged under the following brand names: Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph’s, Boomsma’s, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemps.

State and local partners are also investigating human Salmonella infections in Arizona, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Maryland, North Carolina, Nevada, Oregon, Pennsylvania, Tennessee and Texas.

Once again, the eggs being distributed by Native Maine are not part of the recall.

Currently there are no products being distributed by Native Maine that are under any FDA recall.

In addition, refrigerated shipping and receiving maintains consistent product temperatures from the farm to refrigerator, 24/7 digital video surveillance records and monitors our entire facility, inside and out, even in complete darkness and power outages. Strict criteria for our vendor's food safety, security and quality are carefully scrutinized by our dedicated food safety team before being approved as a vendor. Recall and bioterrorism plans are in place based on the Public Health Security and Bioterrorism Preparedness and Response Act of 2002. Native Maine also has ServSafe® certified managers on every shift 24/7.

The Safe Quality Food (SQF) Program is a fully integrated food safety and quality management program designed specifically for the food industry. SQF certification provides an independent and external validation that a product complies with international and regulatory standards, as well as specified criteria in SQF standards. Moreover, suppliers can provide further assurance that products have produced, prepared and handled according to the highest possible standards.

A copy of Native Maine Produce & Specialty Foods, LLC latest Silliker Laboratories safety award is on file for your inspection. Customer tours of or food distribution facility are always available.
