Backyard Farms, (Home of Backyard Beauties) Madison, Maine

You will be an invited guest to the official ribbon cutting ceremony of their newest greenhouse! Roy Lubetkin, President and CEO of Backyard Farms, the Honorable John E. Baldacci, Governor of Maine, and Norman Dean, Madison Town Manager, along with federal, state and community leaders will be there to kick-off and take part in the celebration. Enjoy refreshments and take a tour to learn how they produce the freshest, tastiest vine-ripened tomatoes in New England. This is the largest greenhouse in New England! Their greenhouse operation is twenty times more productive per acre than a traditional farm. So they protect our environment while still using Maine land for agriculture.

Pineland Farms Creamery, New Gloucester, Maine

Pineland Farms is proud to craft our own delicious, world-class cheese right on the farm in New Gloucester. They have created a flavor, texture, depth and complexity that you must experience to appreciate. Pineland’s cheese's unique and handcrafted quality starts with an exceptional key ingredient: the freshest milk possible. The Creamery is just a stone's throw from the barns, where the internationally renowned herd of Pineland Farms' Holstein cows grazes happily on hundreds of acres of rich grasslands.

Their premier cheese maker, Mark Whitney will greet you and share about his craft as an art form, using centuries-old techniques with meticulous care. Brand-new, state-of-the-art equipment and technology ensures the highest level of food safety and purity, from milk delivery to cheese packaging. Pineland cheeses embody everything good about traditional Maine dairy products – fresh, local and made with pride.
